Coral SMS Messaging Terms and Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 1, 2026
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
This SMS Messaging Terms and Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how Coral LLC (“Coral,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, protects, and shares information in connection with our text messaging program (the “Coral SMS Program”). By opting in to receive text messages from Coral, you (“you,” “your,” or the “Member”) agree to the terms of this Policy.
This Policy supplements, and does not replace, Coral’s general Privacy Policy, Notice of Privacy Practices, and Terms of Use.
1. Consent to Receive Text Messages
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in (for example, by checking a consent box, enrolling online, texting a keyword, or giving verbal consent to a Coral representative), you expressly agree to receive recurring automated and non-automated text messages from Coral at the mobile number you provided. These messages may relate to:
Health Plan Notifications. Updates about your health plan coverage, enrollment status, benefits, eligibility, claims status, ID cards, premium or payment reminders, and plan changes.
Doctor and Appointment Scheduling. Appointment confirmations, reminders, cancellations, rescheduling requests, provider availability, and follow-up care reminders.
Notices. Important account, policy, regulatory, and administrative notices, including changes to plan terms, required disclosures, and service updates.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and Account Security. One-time passcodes, login verification codes, password reset codes, and security alerts related to access to your Coral account.
Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of enrolling in, purchasing, or receiving any Coral health plan, product, or service. You may choose to receive communications through other channels, such as email, postal mail, or your online member portal.
You confirm that you are the account holder or authorized user of the mobile number you provide and that you are at least 18 years of age or otherwise legally authorized to consent.
2. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your account activity, plan events, scheduled appointments, and login requests. 2FA messages are sent only when you request access or when a security event requires verification.
3. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Charges are billed by and payable to your mobile carrier according to your wireless plan. Coral does not charge a fee for its SMS messages. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
4. How to Opt Out
You may opt out of the Coral SMS Program at any time by replying STOP to any Coral text message. You may also reply CANCEL, END, QUIT, UNSUBSCRIBE, or STOP ALL. After you opt out, you will receive one final message confirming your request, and no further messages will be sent unless you opt in again.
Please note that if you opt out of all text messages, you will also stop receiving 2FA codes by SMS. You may need to use an alternate verification method (such as email or an authenticator app, if available) to access your account.
To opt back in, reply START or UNSTOP, or update your communication preferences in your member account.

6. Information We Collect
When you participate in the Coral SMS Program, we may collect your mobile phone number, your name and member identification details, your messaging preferences and opt-in/opt-out history, the content of messages you send to us, the dates and times of messages sent and received, and technical data from our messaging service providers, such as delivery status and carrier information.
7. How We Use Your Information
We use information collected through the Coral SMS Program only to deliver the messages you have consented to receive, verify your identity and secure your account, schedule and manage appointments, communicate about your health plan and benefits, respond to your requests and inquiries, maintain records of your consent as required by law, and improve the reliability and quality of our messaging services.
8. Protected Health Information
Some text messages may contain or relate to protected health information (“PHI”) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”). Coral handles PHI in accordance with HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices.
We aim to limit the health information included in text messages to the minimum necessary. Text messaging is not a fully secure form of communication, and messages may be viewed by anyone with access to your mobile device. By opting in, you acknowledge these risks. You may request that we communicate sensitive information through a more secure channel by emailing info@coral.io.
Please do not reply to text messages with sensitive personal or medical information, such as Social Security numbers, diagnoses, or financial account numbers.
9. How We Share Your Information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the text message services.
We may share information only as follows: with service providers and messaging platforms that help us deliver text messages, who are contractually required to protect your information and, where applicable, have signed Business Associate Agreements; with your healthcare providers as needed to schedule or coordinate your care; when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or court order; and to protect the rights, safety, or security of Coral, our members, or others.
10. Data Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. 2FA codes are time-limited and should never be shared with anyone. Coral will never ask you to share a verification code by phone, text, or email.
11. Data Retention
We retain SMS program records, including consent and opt-out records, for as long as necessary to provide the program, comply with legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
12. Changing Your Mobile Number
If you change or deactivate your mobile number, please notify Coral promptly by updating your member account or emailing info@coral.io, so that messages intended for you are not sent to someone else.
13. Supported Carriers
The Coral SMS Program is available on most major U.S. wireless carriers. Carrier support is subject to change.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, where required, notify you of material changes. Your continued participation in the Coral SMS Program after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
